  • By Air

    The lone and major airport of the district is Bagdogra airport (IXB).Sikkim helipad is also close but has only chopper service. Bagdogra airport is accessible from all the tourist hot spot of Darjeeling and is within a couple of hours drive. Bagdogra airport has direct and regular flight to Kolkata, Delhi, Guwahati and Chennai. There are vehicles available outside the airport to travel to any of the tourist center.

  • By Rail

    Apart from Darjeeling Himalayan Railway Station (88 K.M. from New Jalpaiguri Railway Station) the two closest railway stations are Siliguri and New Jalpaiguri. These railway stations have direct railway connections with Kolkata, Delhi, Guwahati, and other major cities of India.

  • By Road

    The major access to Darjeeling by road is via Siliguri, 77 K.M. (via NH 55), which is connected to all the major cities of India. Bus service is available from Tenzing Norgay Bus Stand, Siliguri. Smaller vehicles are also available on seat-sharing/ hire from airport, railway station, motor syndicates / police motor stand. Facility of Pre-paid taxi stand from NJP Railway station & Bagdogra airport can also be availed.

Gangtok

Believe it or not, but resisting the alluring charm and appeal of Gangtok is almost impossible for anyone! Tsomgo Lake

Located only 38km from Sikkim’s capital, it lies at an altitude of 12,400ft and is one of the highest lakes in India.While the lake remains frozen during the winters, summer brings in a magical charm and appeal to Tsomgo. Nathula Pass

 The once a part of the historic ‘Silk Road’, a visit to Nathu La is a must in any of the Sikkim travel packages. One of the highest motorable pass in the world, this amazing pass is located at a towering height of 4,310m above the sea level and connects Sikkim with Tibet.The pass is open to Indians; however, one has to obtain permission from the tourism department in order to visit this pass. And for the foreign national, they cannot make it to Nathu La.

Lachung

Lachung has multiple reasons to make you fall in love with it! While its location at an enthralling height of 8,610ft makes it a popular snow-destination in Sikkim, its untouched and surreal beauty makes it one of the scenic as well as charming tourist places in Sikkim.Located in the northern part of Sikkim, this quaint mountain village is adorned by the immaculate beauty of the Lachung Chu River and is also known for the Lachung Gompa. Though this village is one of the mostly visited regions in Sikkim, it still holds an alluring charm that can hardly be found in any other destinations.

Pelling

The second most popular tourist attraction in Sikkim, after Gangtok, is the pristine town of Pelling in the West district, located 10 kilometres from Geyzing and 130 miles from Gangtok.  The stunning view of the Kanchenjunga and other peaks is the main appeal of the destination.  Within less than a kilometre of the town, lies the well-known Pemayangste monastery, a popular destination for tourists. Along with being the starting point for a variety of treks in the region, Pelling also provides sites for mountain biking, rock climbing, village sightseeing, and meditation.  Those on the lookout for serenity as well as adventure, Pelling is the most ideal place in Sikkim.

Gurudongmar Lake

 One of the top fifteen highest lakes in the world is Gurudongmar Lake in Sikkim, which is situated 17,100 feet above sea level and is also the second-highest lake in Sikkim. The lake's stunning natural beauty is astounding and draws visitors from all around the world. A sight to behold and treasure is the stunning view of Mount Siniolchu and Kanchenjunga from Gurudongmar Lake, which also has significant religious connotations.   Many travellers bring Gurudongmar Lake water with them on their way back since it is considered to have medicinal properties. Gurudongmar is a lake that is revered much, encircled by snow-capped mountains and filled with glistenning ice water that is perfectly divine and sacred.
